Protecting Ourselves & Our Property
Our right to the quiet and safe enjoyment of our homes and neighborhoods is sacred. Respecting private property rights means respecting the rights of residents, the value of our properties, and protecting both our neighborhoods and the local environment.
As Mayor, I will advocate for safety improvements for all neighborhoods in the Town, including:
Proactive, regular maintenance of drainage ditches and roadways in our Town.
Continuously reviewing the Town’s emergency and disaster plans and working with other governmental entities to be prepared for all severe weather events while striving to keep our residents and properties safe.
Maintaining and expanding strong relationships with the James Island Sheriff’s Patrol and encouraging more active Neighborhood Watch programs.
Supporting our first responders and JI Public Service District workers.
Supporting Town funding for the care and upkeep of the beautiful grand oaks along our roadways and the Clean James Island Creek initiatives.
Encouraging the Town’s continued funding of “Rethink Folly Road” sidewalks and bike paths, digital radar/driver feedback speed signs, other traffic-calming measures, and the Charleston County RoadWise intersection projects at Fort Johnson Rd. – Camp Rd. and Secessionville Rd. – Fort Johnson Rd.
Identifying new and improving existing walkable and bikeable places with sidewalks and recreation paths.
